Former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino, alongside his wife Larissa Pereira, has embarked on a new journey as a pastor in an evangelical church they founded in Maceio, Brazil.

Firmino left Liverpool last summer after a remarkable eight-year stint with the club. During his time with the Reds, the 31-year-old made 362 appearances, scoring 111 goals and providing 75 assists.

According to Brazilian news outlet Globo, Firmino and his wife have now taken on the role of pastors. The couple shared their new mission on Instagram,

“Since our first encounter with Christ, a desire burned in our hearts. We want people to feel this love that reached us. Now we have another desire and responsibility: to become pastors on behalf of God.”

Firmino was an integral part of Liverpool’s formidable attacking trio, alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, under the leadership of former manager Jurgen Klopp. This trio was pivotal in Liverpool’s triumphs in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

Klopp designed his Liverpool attack around Firmino, who became a key player for the Reds. His performances and contributions made him a beloved figure among fans at Anfield.

Since moving to the Middle East, Firmino has struggled to recapture his previous form, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists in 34 games. Despite this, he remains a cherished figure among Liverpool supporters, who continue to miss him since his heartfelt departure from the club.

Klopp held Firmino in high regard, often turning to him to inspire the team during challenging moments.
