Chiesa Speaks on Fulfilling Liverpool Dream and Pledges Excitement for Supporters

Federico Chiesa expressed his delight after completing a transfer to Liverpool from Juventus on Thursday, describing it as a “dream come true.”

The Italian winger joined the Reds for an initial fee of £10 million, with an additional £2.5 million in potential add-ons—a deal considered a steal given his high reputation.

Chiesa arrives at Anfield with an impressive resume, including a Euro 2020 victory with Italy and being named Italian Footballer of the Year in 2021. In his first official interview with the club, Chiesa shared his excitement and emotions about joining Liverpool, stating, “It’s a dream that has become a reality.”

He reflected on what the club represents to him, highlighting its rich history of success: “When I hear the word Liverpool, I think of trophies, victories, and the unforgettable Champions League nights at Anfield. It’s truly emotional for me, and I’m eager to experience the atmosphere, especially hearing the 60,000 fans singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone.’”

Chiesa also made a promise to Liverpool supporters, vowing to give his all for the club: “I will give everything for this shirt and for the fans.”

Recalling the moment he was approached by Liverpool, Chiesa revealed how Richard Hughes, the club’s recruitment chief, reached out to him: “When Richard Hughes called and asked if I wanted to join Liverpool, and then the coach also contacted me, I immediately said ‘yes.’ I know the history of this club and what it means to the fans, so it was an easy decision.”

During his journey to Merseyside, Chiesa experienced a special moment that intensified his anticipation: “As we were about to land, I saw Anfield from the plane. I told my wife to play ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ so I could imagine what it would be like to hear the fans singing it while I’m on the pitch. It was just a fun way to soak it all in.”

Looking ahead to his debut at Anfield, Chiesa admitted he’s already feeling the emotions: “I know I’ll have chills when I play there for the first time. It will be an incredibly emotional moment for me and my family.”

Chiesa is now set to meet his new teammates and begin training under Liverpool head coach Arne Slot as the team prepares for their upcoming match at Old Trafford. He’s already spoken to Slot and made another commitment: “I told him I’m here to help the team and to win trophies, which is the most important thing and what Liverpool fans desire most.”

With his passion and determination, Chiesa is ready to begin his journey with Liverpool and contribute to the club’s pursuit of further success.
