Credible Source Reveals Expected Developments in Martin Zubimendi Transfer Talks

Real Sociedad are doing what everyone expected: making a strong effort to convince their star player to remain with the club, despite Liverpool’s interest.

Fans are eagerly waiting for updates on Liverpool’s pursuit of Martin Zubimendi, and Paul Joyce from The Times has provided the latest insight. According to Joyce, “Real Sociedad have launched a charm offensive to keep Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi at the La Liga club.” This move is hardly surprising.

As a 25-year-old midfielder, Zubimendi is a key figure for Sociedad, and it’s no shock that the club is doing everything possible to retain him. From Liverpool’s perspective, however, fans will be hoping that Sociedad’s efforts aren’t successful.

Joyce also mentions that “the power play from the club’s hierarchy to Zubimendi complicates matters for Liverpool, who will still have to come to an agreement with Sociedad on the transfer fee if the player gives them the green light.” One major obstacle for Liverpool is that “the release clause would have to be paid in one instalment,” which Joyce notes could be a “sticking point.”

Meanwhile, Zubimendi returned to training on Thursday as Real Sociedad prepared for their upcoming friendly against Union Berlin on Friday. The midfielder rejoined the squad on Monday after a summer break, having capped off his season by winning the Euros with Spain last month. It will be interesting to see if he participates in the match against the German side.

In other news, Liverpool’s Jayden Danns has suffered a setback in his hopes for a loan deal due to a back injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for up to two months.
