Jurgen Klopp has expressed his enthusiasm for Liverpool’s future as he prepares to say goodbye to the club on Sunday. Klopp’s nine-year tenure with the Reds concludes following their match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the manager has penned an emotional letter to fans, reflecting on the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.

In his final programme notes, Klopp acknowledged the significance of his departure. “This is my final game as Liverpool manager,” he wrote. “We’ve all known this for a few months, and I’ve been aware for even longer. While I know it’s the right time to leave, it will certainly take some getting used to. Sunday’s match is the next big step into the future.

“I wish I could name everyone I need to thank, but there’s not enough space. I am incredibly appreciative of all the players, past and present, who have served this club during my nine years here. What they have achieved is remarkable—not just in terms of the moments and successes but in how they have embodied what it means to represent Liverpool FC.”

Klopp also paid tribute to the staff and players departing at the season’s end, expressing optimism about the club’s future under new manager Arne Slot. “Liverpool is in a very good place, no matter who is leaving,” he said. “This season we aimed for the moon and ended up among the stars, which is never too bad. The remaining players and staff are top class.

“They will soon have new leadership, but Liverpool is ready to embark on an exciting new journey. This club is known for its adventures, some ending in trophies, some not, but always creating unforgettable stories and moments.

“In my time here, we’ve been blessed with many such moments, all underpinned by stable, intelligent, and creative ownership. I couldn’t be more grateful for this continuity, and I am excited because I know it will continue to benefit Liverpool FC.”

Klopp concluded his message with heartfelt gratitude to the supporters. “To the fans, I have only thanks and love. Everything we have done has been because of you, with you, and for you. The banner on the Kop that says ‘Unity Is Strength’ is a belief we have all lived up to.

“It’s crucial that this unity continues so my successor can enjoy the same support I have had. After Sunday, I will join you as a supporter and hope to play my part in maintaining this unity. I have never walked alone. You will never walk alone. Liverpool FC will never walk alone.”
