Liverpool Confirms Player List for 2024-25 Champions League

Liverpool’s squad for the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League has been officially confirmed.

As the Reds prepare to return to Europe’s elite competition under a revamped format. This season, 36 teams will each face eight different opponents during the initial stage, marking a significant change in the tournament’s structure.

Managed by Arne Slot, Liverpool will welcome Bologna, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, and Lille to Anfield. Meanwhile, they will also travel to face AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Girona, and PSV Eindhoven in the away fixtures. Their Champions League campaign kicks off on September 17 with an away match against AC Milan.

For the tournament, Liverpool has submitted the following squad to UEFA under List A:

List A can feature up to 25 players, with at least eight of those spots reserved for ‘locally trained players.’ Liverpool has strategically utilized this requirement to shape their squad.

Several key members of Liverpool’s senior team, such as Conor Bradley, Harvey Elliott, and Jarell Quansah, qualify for List B due to their age and club-trained status. Players on List B can be registered at any point during the season and may be updated before each fixture.

According to UEFA regulations, players born on or after January 1, 2003, who have been eligible to play for their club for at least two uninterrupted years since their 15th birthday, can be registered on List B. Additionally, 16-year-old players may also be included if they have been with the club for the past two uninterrupted years.

Should Liverpool advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League, they will be allowed to update their List A with up to three new eligible players by February 6, 2025, while still adhering to the maximum squad size of 25 players.
