Liverpool has revealed the 28 players set to travel to the United States for their pre-season tour, which begins with a match against Real Betis on Saturday.
This marks Liverpool’s first trip to the US since 2019, now under the guidance of new manager Arne Slot, who took over from Jurgen Klopp. Slot has had just over two weeks to work with his squad before they head to Pittsburgh on Tuesday, the first destination in their three-city tour.
The club has announced the roster making the journey, noting the absence of several key players due to their involvement in summer international tournaments. Notably, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz are still on their post-season breaks.
However, stars such as Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo, and Harvey Elliott are included in the travelling party. They will be joined by a mix of young talents and fringe players, providing Slot with an extended squad in the absence of several high-profile names.
Young prospects like Ben Doak, Trey Nyoni, Luke Chambers, and Amara Nallo have been selected for the tour. Other first-team regulars making the trip include Jarell Quansah, Kostas Tsimikas, Conor Bradley, Stefan Bajcetic, James McConnell, and Kaide Gordon.
Injuries have sidelined Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark, preventing them from traveling, while goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek is another notable absentee. Alisson and Jota are expected to join the squad in the US at a later date.
