Liverpool Continues to Evaluate Potential Winger Acquisition Post Summer Approval

Liverpool are reportedly still engaged in internal discussions about potentially signing Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon. According to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, Liverpool remains highly interested in Gordon and received a positive response from the player earlier this summer. They view him as a strong candidate to bolster their attack if they decide to make moves later in the transfer window.

Gordon has impressed during his tenure at St James’ Park, making a potential transfer to Liverpool noteworthy, particularly given his history with Everton. However, Romano emphasizes that Newcastle is reluctant to sell the England international. Any deal would likely require a substantial financial offer, and it remains uncertain if Liverpool is prepared to make such an investment.

Despite already having a solid lineup of wingers and forwards, Liverpool could benefit from enhancing their attacking options. Mohamed Salah, while still a key player, is aging. Diogo Jota has struggled with injuries, and Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo have been inconsistent despite showing flashes of brilliance.

Gordon, at 23, would likely be a starter for several top Premier League clubs. Newcastle faces a challenge in retaining him, as he undoubtedly aspires to compete at the highest level and win major trophies—goals that may be harder to achieve at St James’ Park.
