Recent reports from Germany have linked Liverpool to two Bundesliga forwards, but the legitimacy of these claims is open to question.
Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush are the latest names mentioned as potential successors to Mohamed Salah, according to Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger and Florian Plettenberg. Both forwards are reportedly “on Liverpool’s radar” as possible options being “discussed and observed.”
While it’s no secret that Salah’s future remains uncertain with no contract extension confirmed, the suggestion that Adeyemi or Marmoush could replace him seems premature. Neither player is a natural right-winger—Adeyemi, 22, has spent most of his career playing centrally or on the left, while Marmoush, 25, has a similar profile, primarily featuring on the left wing during his time in the Bundesliga.
Marmoush’s connection to Salah extends beyond the position on the pitch, as they both hail from Egypt. With 26 goals in his last 50 club appearances, Marmoush has shown an upward trajectory that may attract attention, though labeling him as the next “Egyptian King” might be premature.
However, it’s important to recognize that Liverpool’s scouting network spans hundreds of players at any given moment. Adeyemi and Marmoush could simply be part of a wider pool of talents being evaluated. It’s unclear how seriously Liverpool might pursue either player, especially since the club is known for carefully selecting players who add more quality than their current options, rather than just filling gaps.
While Liverpool has been linked to Adeyemi since 2021, these types of rumors often surface due to various factors, such as ongoing contract negotiations or general transfer speculation. As Salah’s future remains a hot topic, it’s no surprise to see numerous players associated with potential moves to Liverpool, but for now, these reports should be viewed with caution.
