Liverpool goalkeeper Jakub Ojrzynski faces an uncertain future after a challenging loan spell in the Netherlands. As he enters his sixth season with Liverpool, Ojrzynski’s next move remains unclear following a disappointing stint at Den Bosch.
The 21-year-old made only 11 appearances for the Dutch second-tier team, with just one outing between December and the season’s end. By the conclusion of the campaign, he had fallen out of favor entirely and was dealing with a knee injury.
This summer brings significant changes to Liverpool’s goalkeeping roster, with coaches John Achterberg and Jack Robinson departing and both Caoimhin Kelleher and Adrian likely to follow. Despite the upheaval, Ojrzynski isn’t expected to feature in first-team plans.
Ojrzynski, currently in Poland, remains unsure of his future. “I am in the final phase of rehabilitation. Fortunately, I am getting closer to returning to full fitness,” he told Echo Dnia. “I’m waiting for the next season. I don’t know yet where I will play next season. I’m still a Liverpool player, we’ll see how it all turns out.”
Ojrzynski joined Liverpool from Legia Warsaw in 2019 for £200,000, primarily featuring for the U18s. He was part of the first-team squad once, for a 2-0 win at Sheffield United in 2021 when Alisson and Kelleher were unavailable. However, with Vitezslav Jaros, Harvey Davies, and Marcelo Pitaluga ahead of him, he was sent on loan to gain experience.
His loan spells included time at Welsh side Caernarfon Town, a cut-short stint with Radomiak Radom in Poland, and the recent move to Den Bosch. Liverpool is likely to seek another loan for Ojrzynski, who is under contract until 2025, though Achterberg’s departure complicates the situation.
Ojrzynski’s uncertainty highlights the broader changes at Liverpool this summer, with many players’ futures yet to be determined.
