Liverpool are gearing up for a significant player-plus-cash offer to sign Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

According to Teamtalk, the Reds are preparing a bid of £50 million along with goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to secure the English winger’s transfer.

Under the guidance of manager Arne Slot, Liverpool is set for a busy summer transfer window. The Dutchman is expected to receive substantial backing from the club as he seeks to revamp the squad, addressing various positions in both attack and defense.

Anthony Gordon has emerged as a prime target for Liverpool, especially given Newcastle’s need to offload players to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. Recently, Newcastle agreed to sell Yankuba Minteh to Brighton, raising funds to meet financial regulations. Gordon might be the next to leave, with Liverpool’s interest intensifying.

Currently representing England at the Euros, Gordon has impressed national team manager Gareth Southgate after a stellar Premier League season. The winger contributed to 21 goals, scoring 11 and assisting 10, making him a valuable asset.

Liverpool values Caoimhin Kelleher between £25 million and £35 million, making the overall package for Gordon worth approximately £75 million to £85 million. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is keen to retain Gordon but might have to sell due to financial constraints. Additionally, Kelleher’s inclusion in the deal could address Newcastle’s need for a new goalkeeper to challenge their first-choice, Nick Pope.

While this deal could be beneficial for all parties, Newcastle would face the disappointment of losing a talented player like Gordon. The winger, however, is reportedly open to joining Liverpool, despite the rivalry with his former club Everton.
