Liverpool’s pre-season training is set to commence later this week, marking the beginning of Arne Slot’s tenure with the club. The Reds will return to the AXA Training Centre, eager to kick off preparations for the 2024/25 season.
Despite some initial uncertainty about the specifics of Slot’s first summer schedule, it has now been confirmed that pre-season will start on Friday. The initial group will feature a mix of key players and fringe figures, including Mohamed Salah, who leads the squad of up to 16 first-team players after a well-deserved break following his international duties with Egypt.
Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Jarell Quansah, Wataru Endo, Kostas Tsimikas, Caoimhin Kelleher, Conor Bradley, and Stefan Bajcetic are among the senior players expected to return. They will be joined by young talents like Ben Doak, James McConnell, Bobby Clark, Jayden Danns, and loanees Sepp van den Berg, Fabio Carvalho, and Nat Phillips.
Liverpool’s academy teams have already begun their pre-season, with the U21s and U18s resuming training on Monday. Some of these young players will be integrated into the first-team sessions over the summer as Slot’s squad expands.
Players like Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson, and goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros, who were eliminated from the Euros at the group stage, will rejoin the team after their post-tournament holidays.
Arne Slot, the 45-year-old new head coach, aims to make an immediate impact during these initial sessions. His first press conference as Liverpool head coach is scheduled for Friday morning at 11am, providing an early opportunity to share his vision for the team.
