Pep Lijnders’ Pursuit of Liverpool Teen Star Hits Snag with Rejected Bid

Pep Lijnders, the new head coach of RB Salzburg, is eager to bring Liverpool’s young talent, Bobby Clark, to Austria for the 2024/25 season. Lijnders, who previously served as an assistant coach at Liverpool, has a history of working with Clark, having seen the midfielder rise through the ranks to join Jurgen Klopp’s senior squad.

Clark, now 19, made his debut for Liverpool in 2022 during a dominant 9-0 victory over Bournemouth. Since then, he has made 14 appearances for the Premier League club, contributing one goal and two assists. Last season, Clark played a significant role at Anfield, stepping up during a challenging period early in 2024. He was among the young players who helped secure a win against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.

As Clark’s development reaches a crucial stage, his future remains uncertain. While Liverpool recently rejected a £6 million bid from RB Salzburg, reports from DAVEOCKOP indicate that the Austrian club is determined to secure the midfielder, either on loan or through a permanent transfer. Salzburg is prepared to break their transfer record to bring Clark on board.

In addition to Salzburg, Norwich City, Leeds, and Rangers have also expressed interest in the Liverpool star. With several clubs vying for his signature, Clark’s next move will likely be decided soon.
