Positive Developments on Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool Contract Plans Revealed by Fabrizio Romano

Trent Alexander-Arnold finds himself in the final year of his contract with Liverpool, sparking concerns among fans.

As the 25-year-old enters the final stretch of his current deal, he’ll be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs as early as the New Year.

One club that has been linked with the talented right-back is Real Madrid, who continue to assemble one of the most formidable squads in world football. Adding to the speculation, Alexander-Arnold has reportedly developed a close friendship with former Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, now a key player at Madrid, fueling rumours of a potential free transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, leaving Liverpool may not be so straightforward. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed some light on the situation, revealing that the Reds are preparing to initiate contract talks with Alexander-Arnold.

Romano explained, “Liverpool will have their opportunity to keep Trent at the club and extend his contract. We’ll have to wait and see how negotiations progress.”

Romano also addressed the ongoing rumors about Real Madrid’s interest in the defender, clarifying that while the Spanish giants have expressed admiration for Alexander-Arnold in the past, nothing concrete has developed recently. “Real Madrid’s appreciation is something I mentioned back in March, but as of now, there’s no fresh or substantial update,” he added.

As Liverpool reportedly prepares to open discussions for a contract extension, there is room for optimism among fans that an agreement can be reached. Having spent his entire career at Anfield and remaining a crucial figure under new manager Arne Slot, it seems unlikely that Alexander-Arnold would choose to leave, risking his legacy at one of Europe’s most storied clubs.
