Liverpool’s potential opponents for the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League league phase have been finalized, with the draw set to take place this Thursday at 5 pm BST in Monte Carlo.
The draw will reveal the eight teams the Reds will face in the competition’s newly introduced format.
For this league phase, 36 teams have qualified and will be seeded according to their UEFA club coefficients. Liverpool, under the guidance of Arne Slot, find themselves in Pot One, where they will be matched against two teams from each of the other three pots. The draw will determine which teams the Reds will host at Anfield and which they will face away from home.
As per UEFA rules, Liverpool cannot be drawn against another Premier League club, and they are restricted to a maximum of two opponents from the same nation.
The potential opponents for Liverpool from each pot are as follows:
Pot One: Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, Real Madrid.
Pot Two: AC Milan, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Club Brugge, Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk.
Pot Three: Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb, Feyenoord, Lille, PSV Eindhoven, Red Bull Salzburg, Red Star Belgrade, Sporting CP, Young Boys.
Pot Four: Bologna, Brest, Girona, Monaco, Slovan Bratislava, Sparta Prague, Sturm Graz, Stuttgart.
Liverpool’s fans will be eagerly anticipating the draw, as the team prepares to navigate the challenges of this new format. The road to European glory is never easy, and this year’s competition is set to be more intense than ever.
