Reds eye last-minute swoop for £70 million star attacker

Liverpool’s lackluster transfer window might soon take a dramatic turn as the club is reportedly preparing a sensational late move.

Fans have been left frustrated by the club’s inactivity this summer, as Liverpool has yet to secure any major signings while their rivals have splurged to strengthen their squads.

The arrival of new manager Arne Slot initially sparked hope that the club would back him in the transfer market, bringing in players suited to his style and philosophy. However, the quiet period that followed has only deepened the fans’ disappointment.

This could all change, according to Football Insider, as Liverpool is now eyeing a stunning late bid for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian international has been a long-term target for Liverpool, and the club might finally make a move for the Italian side’s star player.

Liverpool’s interest in adding a wide forward has been evident, particularly with their pursuit of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon. But with Gordon staying at St James’ Park, shifting focus to Kvaratskhelia seems logical.

Kvaratskhelia has emerged as one of the most sought-after wingers in Europe, thanks to his impressive performances at Napoli. In his debut season in Italy, he notched 14 goals and 17 assists across all competitions. Last season, he continued to shine, contributing 11 goals and 9 assists.

However, securing Kvaratskhelia’s signature won’t be easy, especially with Napoli reluctant to part with their key player so late in the transfer window. The Georgian is valued at £70 million, a fee that shouldn’t be an issue for Liverpool, given their minimal spending so far this summer.

Bringing in Kvaratskhelia could provide the much-needed boost at Anfield and potentially transform the mood among the supporters.
