Slot Sets Specific Condition for Potential Liverpool Midfielder Departure

Liverpool will only consider allowing Stefan Bajcetic to leave on loan if they secure a new defensive midfielder during this transfer window.

The Reds have been actively seeking to bolster their midfield all summer, but with just 10 days left, they have yet to finalize any additions.

One of their top targets was Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. Despite showing significant interest in bringing the Spaniard to Anfield, Zubimendi ultimately decided to stay at his boyhood club, leaving Liverpool’s pursuit unsuccessful.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, if Liverpool manager Arne Slot can bring in at least one new midfielder, Bajcetic may be permitted to go out on loan for the season. The 19-year-old has attracted considerable interest from various clubs, and while Slot has been impressed with his performances, he believes the young Spaniard would benefit from gaining more experience elsewhere before taking on a regular role as Liverpool’s number six.

Bajcetic was promoted to Liverpool’s first team in 2022 and made a solid impression in his debut season, starting six Premier League matches. However, last season was more challenging for the Vigo-born midfielder, as a calf injury sidelined him for 41 games. With three years remaining on his contract, Bajcetic is eager for a more successful campaign this time around.

Since making his Liverpool debut two years ago, the 19-year-old has scored one goal in 22 appearances across all competitions.
