Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has reveal⁹ed his starting XI for their Premier League match against Crystal Palace this afternoon. The Reds head to Selhurst Park for a 12:30 pm kick-off, aiming to maintain their excellent track record at the south London venue. Despite a tight schedule following their midweek Champions League game on Wednesday, Liverpool are keen to continue their fine form.
A victory today would extend their lead at the top of the table to four points, at least temporarily, ensuring they remain in first place heading into the October international break. This would provide a perfect platform, especially with tough fixtures awaiting them after the break.
Fortunately, Slot has had nearly all of his squad available since the season began. Although he’s opted for consistency in team selection so far, there are four changes to the side that beat Bologna in midweek.
For today’s game, Alisson Becker remains in goal, with a backline consisting of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, and Kostas Tsimikas, who steps in for Andy Robertson at left-back.
In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister keep their spots, while Curtis Jones comes into the side, replacing Dominik Szoboszlai.
Up front, Diogo Jota returns as the central striker in place of Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo is chosen on the left wing, replacing Luis Diaz.
Due to illness, backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is unavailable, so Vitezslav Jaros fills his place on the bench. Federico Chiesa, also sidelined with an injury, misses out on the squad entirely.
Here’s the full team lineup for today’s clash, as announced by @LFC on X:
Starting XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Jones; Jota, Gakpo, Salah.
