Emmanuel Adebayor, a footballer with a storied career including stints at Arsenal, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, has revealed that Anfield is his favorite away ground. Despite facing Liverpool seven times at the iconic stadium with four different clubs and never securing a victory (according to Transfermarkt), Adebayor holds the venue in high regard.
In an interview with Sky Sports, the 40-year-old reminisced about the vibrant atmosphere at Anfield, saying, “The atmosphere is crazy. It’s so loud and you can tell the fans are behind their team. ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ is beautiful.”
Adebayor notably played and scored at Anfield during a memorable Champions League quarter-final in 2008, where Arsenal ultimately fell 4-2 to Liverpool. This match remains a highlight in his career, even though it ended in disappointment.
Although Jurgen Klopp criticized the stadium’s atmosphere after a Carabao Cup win over West Ham late in 2023, Anfield remains unrivaled when it matters most, with the Kop in full voice providing a unique experience.
