This opportunity arose just six minutes after Jamal Musiala’s contentious goal in the 22nd minute, which stood despite replays indicating a possible foul by Ilkay Gundogan on a Hungarian defender during the buildup.
Hungary earned a free-kick from nearly 20 yards out, and Szoboszlai confidently stepped up. He delivered a beautifully curled shot that seemed destined for the top-left corner. However, Germany’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer executed a phenomenal save to prevent the goal, denying Szoboszlai a moment of brilliance.
