Even in retirement, former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch hasn’t lost his competitive edge. In the debut episode of TNT Sports’ “Training Day” series, Crouch, alongside fellow ex-Red Joe Cole, joined Brentford’s first team for a training session. This provided a unique opportunity to see how these former stars would fare against current Premier League players.
Crouch, known for his time at Liverpool and Tottenham, exhibited the same youthful energy and enthusiasm on the pitch as he did in his prime. Despite being over 40, he moved with the vigor of a much younger player. One memorable moment saw Crouch attempting to reclaim possession with a rather enthusiastic tackle on a member of Brentford’s coaching staff.
The result was a robust, no-holds-barred challenge that sent the unfortunate coach sprawling to the ground, much to the amusement of everyone present. The coach, however, took the incident in stride, quickly getting back on his feet and playfully gesturing towards a laughing Crouch.
It’s clear that Crouch still has the drive and passion that defined his playing career. Watching him in action is a testament to his enduring love for the game and his larger-than-life personality.
