Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend and native of Liverpool, recently shared his thoughts on his least favorite aspect of his hometown. Despite the rarity of a Scouser being a United icon, Rooney didn’t hold back during his conversation with Gary Neville on The Overlap.
When asked about his dislikes regarding Liverpool, the former Everton striker candidly replied, “What I dislike [most about Liverpool] would be Liverpool Football Club, that’s it – not much, anything else really.”
Rooney’s straightforward response reflects his pride in his hometown, despite his aversion to its iconic football club. At 38, he remains honest about his feelings, clearly differentiating between his love for Liverpool as a city and his rivalry with its red half.
