Dominik Szoboszlai has extended Liverpool’s advantage at the San Siro with a composed finish from inside the box.
AC Milan had taken an early lead, with Christian Pulisic finding the back of the net just three minutes into the match. However, Liverpool responded strongly, heading into halftime with a 2-1 lead, thanks to headers from Ibou Konate and Virgil van Dijk.
In the second half, Arne Slot’s team came out with renewed energy, pressing hard in search of an equalizer. Their efforts nearly paid off, but instead, it was Liverpool who struck again. Cody Gakpo played a key role in setting up the third goal, with Szoboszlai involved from the outset.
The Hungarian midfielder, wearing the No. 8 shirt, first spotted Gakpo’s run and sent a well-timed pass down the left wing. Gakpo surged forward into the box, displaying great strength and pace, before cutting the ball back to Szoboszlai, who was waiting in the area. With precision, Szoboszlai’s shot struck the inside of the post and found the back of the net, giving Liverpool a 3-1 lead.
With just under 20 minutes remaining in the match, Liverpool are in a strong position to secure the victory. Let’s hope the team can manage the closing stages without any issues and see the game out for a crucial win.
