Trent Alexander-Arnold has a reputation for delivering iconic corner kicks at Anfield, and he nearly produced another moment of brilliance today.
Fans will never forget his quick-thinking corner in the 2019 Champions League semifinal against Barcelona, setting up Divock Origi for a decisive goal. This afternoon, however, Trent came close to surpassing even that legendary moment.
In the 35th minute of Liverpool’s clash with Nottingham Forest, the vice-captain unleashed a dangerous corner from the Anfield Road End. The ball curved menacingly towards the goal, just inches away from finding the back of the net.
Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels remained alert and managed to tip the ball behind, narrowly preventing a spectacular goal. Had Trent’s corner snuck past the keeper, it would’ve been an unforgettable moment, replayed in highlight reels for years to come.
