Liverpool have taken control of their clash against AC Milan at San Siro, overturning an early deficit to lead 2-1 by half-time.
Christian Pulisic gave the hosts a dream start, finding the back of the net just three minutes in. However, the Reds responded swiftly and decisively. Ibou Konate leveled the score with a powerful header, and not long after, Virgil van Dijk added another with a towering header from a Kostas Tsimikas corner, leaving Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan with no chance.
Van Dijk’s commanding presence in the box was key as he outjumped the Milan defenders to give his side the advantage heading into the break.
With 45 minutes still to play, Liverpool will need to maintain their intensity to secure the win. But based on the first-half display, Arne Slot’s men look well-positioned to continue pressing for a result.
